- Thick, Transparent, Plastic Sheets
- A Fine-Point Permanent Marker
- Colored Markers
- A Pattern to Trace
- A Scrap Board
Stencil Making Steps
- Draw or trace the pattern you want on the plastic with a fine point permanent marker.
- If your pattern is too big to fit on the plastic, divide it into sections and trace each section onto a different piece of plastic. Remember to trace a marker on each pattern to indicate where they line up.
- Color the stencil in with the colors you plan to use.
- Determine whether the different colors are so close that you will have to make different stencils for each color.
- Place the plastic on a scrap board.
- Cut the stencil out.
- Check your stencil to make sure you didn't make a mistake.
