Spackle Checklist

What You Need to Spackle
  • A Bucket
  • A Sponge
  • Mild Soap
  • Clean Cloth or Paper Towels
  • Putty Knife
  • Spackle
  • Sand Paper

Preparing to Spackle Steps

  • Find the places on your wall you want to spackle.
  • If there is a nail or screw in those places remove or counter sink them.
  • If there is a small bump on the wall, scrape it off.
  • Sand the areas where you want to spackle until they are smooth.
  • Clean the area with a mild soap and water.
  • Wipe the area dry.
  • Allow the area to fully dry before you spackle.

Spackle Instructions
  • Open the spackle.
  • Mix the spackle with the putty knife.
  • Scoop a small amount of spackle onto the putty knife.
  • Apply the spackle over the small hole or dent using crisscross motions.
  • Dip your putty knife in water.
  • Scrape the excess spackle off very lightly.
  • Allow the spackle to dry for the amount of time recommended on the label.
  • If the dent isn't completely filled, apply spackle again using crisscross motions.
