Spiral Staircase Checklist

Where to install a spiral staircase:

A spiral staircase should not be installed as the main staircase in a building unless it is a double helix. If it is not a double helix, it probably will not pass the building codes.
A spiral staircase should not be installed nest to a laundry room or in a place where you will be carrying large baskets or boxes up and down the stairs. It is very hard to carry large loads up spiral staircases.
Good places to install spiral staircases are in libraries, lofts with spaces under 500 feet, master bedrooms and other areas with little traffic flow.
Spiral staircases are best placed in areas where other people will see them because they create a nice focal point in a room and are an excellent topic of conversation.
