Tapestries Checklist

By Meghan Carter

Things to look for in a well made tapestry:

  • Lies relatively flat with only a slight wave or ripple
  • Looks structurally sturdy
  • Should be finely woven without gaps, seams or bunches
  • Subject matter is personally engaging

How to care for your tapestry:

  • Keep it away from vents and dust
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight
  • Keep it away from damp and smelly areas
  • Kitchens and bathrooms aren't ideal locations for tapestries
  • Can vacuum but put a window screen over it
  • If deep cleaning is necessary, consult a professional
